There's no point in lying to your pocket. The cloud is not a magical place to solve problems. On the contrary, all the trouble you bring into it, the Cloud will multiply and expose vulnerabilities. The cloud is a journey. To heaven or hell. How do you know when joining the Cloud is profitable for your business?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adopce Cloud usually represents a fundamental change and requires reform not only in IT: it forces you to share IT <\/span>think differently<\/strong>. Although Cloud has properties that imply a number of ben<\/span>efits, in common scenarios such as migration of the entire data center or the use of IaaS, the cloud solution is often <\/span>more expensive <\/strong>and sometimes it's even associated <\/span>with multiple risks<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is also support for geoclusters (as HAProxy<\/a> with VMware and Hyper-V support) and for databases (for example Oracle Database Cloud Services<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cloud offers interesting scenarios also from the perspective of Business Continuity<\/strong> and Disaster Recovery<\/strong>. Why keep a whole second backup center with all the fixed costs? Why not have them (even partially) in the Cloud with the ability to build dynamically with all the economic savings?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another good example would be cloud archive<\/strong> for long-term data storage, which usually has an extremely favourable price. In addition, when restoring within the Cloud (to a backup Cloud datacenter), additional costs for transferring large amounts of data are eliminated = synergistic effects. Your data will thus be available from backup anywhere in the world at interesting RTO\/RPO and even more interesting costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
